THE JOYS OF WRITING: THE ART OF EXPRESSING BIG IDEAS IN A SHORT BLURB

I think one of my favorite things to do in writing, is leaving a trail of little crumbs for the playmates that will eventually read my stories. Writing for the fame of establishing a name or gaining financially will only lead to disappointment and anxiety in the long term the story will be lost in a stressed out sauce of wordiness, believe me…

The point of thrillers and truly horrific scenes is to leave enough black spaces that the reader can fill in the gaps with their own imagination. It makes it more terrifying and personal but there is a fine line because being too vague can leave too much room and lead to confusion and ultimately the reader leaving your book in the dust. A treasure left covered for the amount of digging it takes to get to it.

This is drafts one through three at least for me… by the time the storyline starts looking more like insanity to me, I do crazy things like shave my hair and delete every last word starting over… just me and the pictures that haunt me for want of being taken seriously… but that’s where they have to realize they came to a simple being, who doesn’t have such brilliant words for the beautiful scenes given to me…

Being a writer takes humility, an acknowledgement that my muses and characters know their own story better than me.

Thanks for stopping by!

Enjoy! ❤
